EDGAR ALLAN POE

This is the third illustration of my favorite writer. This time, I wanted to give him the dark touch of his books. At the sides of the head you can see a crow and a sculture. That's a tribute to "The Raven", the most known of his poems, where a Raven perches upon the bust of Pallas Athenea.

"Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more."

From the left side of the head there are birds flying toward the crow. From the right one gothic letters explode to the bust. The font was made by me in illustrator inspired by brazillian graffiti.
